Registration, Check-in, and Launching: Pre-Registration is available on line. Check-in and on site registration will take place at regatta headquarters. Hours will be Friday, August 5, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 6, from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m.
Sailing instructions will be available at check-in. Registration is not completed until Sailing Instructions have been received and acknowledged.
Practice sailing is available during registration hours.
A competitor’s briefing will take place at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, at Regatta Headquarters.
Race Schedule:Seven races are scheduled. The warning signal for the first race will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6. Except when races are sailed back to back, warning signals for subsequent races will be posted by the Race Committee. Three rces shall constitute a regatta. If three races are completed, no race shall start after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7. In any case, no race shall start after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7.
Eligibility
Yachts: The regatta is open to boats of the Club 420 Class. No boat ownership rules apply to this regatta. Measurement is not required at this event. Boats are available for chartering on a by needs basis (Chartering fee $35). Contact Mike Woldum for chartering questions.
Crew: No competitor shall reach or shall have reached the age of 26 during calendar year 2011. All skippers must be Family, Regular, Youth, or Life members of the ILYA. A single-event ILYA membership ($20) is available for this event. Crew members become members of the Association by virtue of the yacht’s completed registration. Social
Lunch will be provided for competitors as part of registration fee.
Saturday party will be provided for competitors as part of registration fee. Come as you are following the last race on Saturday for food and activities.
Fees
The entry fee is $70.00 per boat (after Aug. 1 add $10, or on site add $15). Entries should be submitted on-line or on an official ILYA Regatta Entry form and postmarked or otherwise received by August 1, 2011. The Regatta Entry form, which includes the Waiver of Liability and other pertinent information, may be found on-line or in Scow Slants.
Trophies
Trophies for the top three skipper and crew will be awarded.
Risks
Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club, sponsors, or any other organization or official) will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor, or in the case of minors, each competitor’s parent or guardian, agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Rules
1. Except as any of the following are altered by the Sailing Instructions, the regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association, the Rules and Bylaws of the ILYA, and the scantling rules of the Club 420 Class Association.
2. ADVERTISING will be restricted to Category A.
3. BOATING REGULATIONS of the State of Minnesota will apply.

The racing area will be on the navigable waters of Lake Calhoun. The courses to be sailed will be described in the Sailing instructions.

Launching: Launching is located at the sailing dock and Refectory (northeast shore of Lake Calhoun - Lake Street and East Calhoun Parkway).
Parking: The Uptown Art Fair (www.uptownartfair.com) will be going on at the same time. The Calhoun Yacht Club has reserved parking on the North side of the lake less than a quarter mile from the Regatta Headquarters. Directions and maps can be found at www.lakecalhoun.org (Calhoun Yacht Club).

Registration
Eligible boats may enter by three means:
1) Registering on the ILYA website (www.ilya.org). To register for the regatta click HERE.
2) Completing an official ILYA Regatta Entry Application and sending it, together with the required fee, to the ILYA at PO Box 311, Fontana, WI 53125.
3) Faxing to ILYA at 262-203-7722.
All entries must be postmarked or otherwise received by August 1 to avoid late penalties per this Notice of Race. Fax and Internet registrations require MasterCard or VISA credit card information.
