Registration, Check-in, and Launching will be at the PYC grounds (Regatta Headquarters) Friday, July 9 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, July 10, from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. Trailer parking will be off-site but within walking distance of the PYC. Registration is not completed until measurement and weight requirements have been checked, and Sailing Instructions have been received and acknowledged.
Practice sailing is available during registration hours.
A competitor’s briefing will take place at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning, July 10, at Regatta Headquarters.
Race Schedule: Six races are scheduled in each fleet. The warning signal for the first race will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 10. Warning signals for subsequent races will be posted by the Race Committee. No warning signal for Class M-16 will be made after Noon on Sunday, July 11, if at least three races have been completed by that time. No warning signal for Class Melges 17 will be made after Noon on Sunday, July 11, if at least one race has been completed by that time. In any case, no warning signal for either class shall be made after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11.
Eligibility
The regatta is open to boats of the Melges 17 and M-16 Scow Class. The skipper must be a family, regular, youth or life member of the ILYA at the time of registration. Crew members become members of the ILYA by virtue of the yacht’s completed registration. ILYA Member Club requirements apply. See ILYA By-laws 12.22 and 12.23.
Social
Lunch and dinner ticketswill be available at the registration table for competitors and spectators. On Saturday evening, there will be a dinner served at the PYC. Soft goods will be available on a preorder basis only. Click here.
Fees
The entry fee is $100.00 per boat (after June 26 add $20 or on-site add $30). Entry includes no lunches. Lunches and dinner tickets can be purchased at registration. Entries should be submitted on-line or on an official ILYA Regatta Entry form and postmarked or otherwise received by June 26, 2010. The Regatta Entry form, which includes the Waiver of Liability and other pertinent information, may be found on-line or in Scow Slants.
Entry is free for skippers sailing their first ILYA Adult Class Regatta, and who contact the ILYA office and register prior to or on the early registration deadline (June 26).
A 50% youth-aged skipper discount is available to qualifying skippers who register prior to or on the early registration deadline (June 26).
Registration fee incentives do not apply to on-site registrations.
Trophies
ILYA perpetual trophies will be awarded to the winners of each completed race. Trophies for the top three skipper and crew will be awarded in each class. In Class M-16 the top Rookie Skipper and top Master Skipper will recieve an award.
Risks
Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club, sponsors, or any other organization or official) will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor, or in the case of minors, each competitor’s parent or guardian, agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Rules
1. Except as any of the following are altered by the Sailing Instructions, the regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association, the Rules and Bylaws of the ILYA, and the following class scantlings:
The scantling rules of the Melges 17 Class Association.
The scantling rules of the ILYA M-16 Class.
2. ADVERTISING will be restricted to Category A.
3. BOATING REGULATIONS of the State of Wisconsin will apply. Wisconsin statutes require all boats to carry a Coast Guard approved PFD for each person on board plus a throwable at all times. All Wisconsin boats must have registration numbers and tags forward of the mast.
Courses
The racing area will be on the navigable waters of Pewaukee Lake. The courses to be sailed will be described in the Sailing instructions. Each fleet will race on a separate course, the location of which will be described at the Competitors' Briefing or by notice on the Official notice Board.

Miscellaneous
Mooring: The Yacht Club has two ramps for launching. Dry sailing will be permitted with limited availability, and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis based on time of registration. Otherwise, mooring will be in the Yacht Club bay. Each boat will need to have a buoy, at least 20’ of anchor line, and an anchor. Taxi service will be provided prior to and immediately following the races. Mooring may also be available for those with private housing. NO overnight pier parking will be permitted.
Spectator Fleet: Spectator/tender boats are welcome. Gas is for sale at the Club. Every effort will be made to provide ample spectator boats for those wishing to get out on the water to watch the action.

Eligible boats may enter by three means:
1) Registering on the ILYA website (www.ilya.org). To register for the regatta click HERE.
2) Completing an official ILYA Regatta Entry Application and sending it, together with the required fee, to the ILYA at PO Box 311, Fontana, WI 53125.
3) Faxing to ILYA at 262-203-7722.
All entries must be postmarked or otherwise received by June 26 to avoid late penalties per ILYA By-law 12.18.3.d. Fax and Internet registrations require MasterCard or VISA credit card information.
